The date belongs to the claim.
A page can be freshly edited and scientifically stale. So the Evidence Desk keeps an evidence-check date separate from ordinary publishing activity—and gives the most changeable facts the shortest clock.
The reading order
A study enters at the bottom, not the top.
- Start with the decision.What could a Californian reasonably do differently if the finding holds?
- Look for the whole body of evidence.Guidelines, systematic reviews and replicated trials matter more than novelty.
- Read the limits.Who was excluded, what was compared, how long follow-up lasted and which outcome actually changed?
- Keep the systems apart.Evidence, FDA approval, California law, insurance coverage and clinic marketing are different facts.
- Leave the source attached.The reader should be able to inspect the authority behind a consequential claim.

A page enters a 14-day grace period when its review date passes. After that, the release gate fails until the evidence is checked and the record is renewed. “Checked” means the cited evidence and time-sensitive facts were inspected. It does not mean a clinician reviewed the page.
